You're wrong. The individual is what "owns". It's how good the fighter is, not how good the system is. All learning is incomplete; there is no ultima.

At first ninjutsu wasn't just a formal art according to hatsumi. It was spread across several families who each studied a different skill of ninjutsu. The ninja didn't see themselves as ninja just ordinary peasant until ninjutsu was finally classified as a style in the 1100's(i think). Ninja(the name )were given to those who practised ninjutsu so they can be outlawed since ninjutsu was illegl because it was against the current japanese government system or something.Takamatsu wrote a letter_

Narutoiga88-You are right and wrong. A critical point in Ninjutsu is doing whatever it takes to survive and to protect your friends and family. However, in Japan when the art was first developed, it was developed to kill. The reason for this, from what my sensei tells me, is so that an army of 100 can defeat an army of 1000. If one man alone can kill at least 10 in battle, that army can defeat the army of 1000. But you are right in the sense it is taught for survival

describing the true role and essence of ninjutsu I think you should read it. it was very deep and enlightening(not the buddha enlightening way) on the ninja and their way. Your teacher has read it no doubt. By the way I'm going to be posting some of my own videos soon and I would like to hear from you on what you would like to see and think. also if you have any training tips write me and I'll try to incorporate them in my training for a trip I'm taking. peace

You can find it in Hatsumi's book Ninjutsu:history&tradition. It's several pages long so I can't post it. But I will be setting up a myspace account to link to my videos of my training for my backpacking trip I'll be taking(really important to me)and it'll be posted there for you to see. Suggest you buy the book because it's a good one as it gives you a good insight on the ninja. Peace.
