it IS efficient.if you were a nak muay (muay thai fighter) you would have a LOT of pain resistance. you will be able to win against an oponnent of any size, and you should be able to win against multiple oponents also. THAT’s really what Muay Thai is about, especially if you are advanced enough and learn some Muay Boran, then you would really have made it :) BUT it’s all about the fighter and there’s always exceptions, errors and mistakes we make.. bla bla.. nobody’s perfect.

Interesting. I respect Muay Thai a lot but I did often wonder if that guard was particularly effective in a real fight when compared to a more standard guard.

Yeah, unfortunately most places (at least around here) they teach under the WTF, so it’s the olympic style. I don’t really like that. I would like to get into Krav Maga and Muay Thai… I like to diversify, I mean Bruce Lee himself knew several different forms… from Boxing, to Wing Chun, to TKD, to some Muay Thai, and even wrestling… He was the first true “MMA” heh. I think it’s always good to have something for every situation.

If ima kickboxer im gonna kick u till u get close. Get close im trained to box ur ass off of me. Clinch me and i knee u. Naw in maui thai u want to knee me for no reason. If u jump in my face wit that stupid shit ima uppercut u rite in the gut. And Muay thai doesnt allow kicking below the waste

Every muay thai I have ever seen is known for kicking to the thigh, clinching with knees, elbows, punches, and a rare case of spin kicks. Kickboxing will do the same but without the clinch and the elbows. Thats why it kickboxing has rules of no knees and elbows in their match. Now Muay Boran, ancient fighting art of muay thai, they would run and jump on you with knees and elbows. Good luck with punching him in the gut while he fall with a elbow 2 your head.

lol thoroughbred765 u obviously know jackshit about Muay Thai and have never seen it in action, it uses shins, elbows and knees ya tit, it focuses on core muscle movement resulting in powerful punchs, elbows, knees and kicks, u would have ur ass handed to you by a thai boxer, stupid kid

LMAO. It took a minute but now that ive found out Kickboxing and mauy thai are the same thing lame-o. it depends where ur at. in america u cant use knees and elbows unless its self defense. Either way flying knees are stupid. Kiss my az. Kickboxing is coo.

  9. chipp0 says:

yeah pretty much except the knees and elbows, they’re illegal in kickboxing matches but legal in thai, nah its not stupid, 8 tonnes per square inch of pressure, that kinda damage will make u kiss ur own ass, im not knocking kickboxing tho, u just got ur shit wrong bout muay thai, but u hvnt now so thats good
