All Martial Arts originated in Himalayas. 5 groups were formed which migrated in ancient times. 1) East Asia 2) South Asia including India 3) West Asia 4) North Asia 5) Africa

Overall, “greatest, fastest, most impresive” comes from the PRACTITIONER not the STYLE!Example: If you saw regular guy who had a few lesson to use the shaolin staff form, u might think that looks shit. But that doesn’t mean the style is shit, check the monks, but that’s coz they pracitce day to night. So it’s all the practitioner the style only gives you a guideline.

But sufficient to say I don’t think a sole culture was responsible. It’s within human nature to defend ourselves. And I believe in ancient history, countries have independently developed their own fighting system, and in historical events travelled and shared and swapped cultures and taken influences from another, some martial arts are even lost in time and history. Entire empires can be lost, so why not martial arts?

It’s really hard to say where ma “originated” from, but I personally think India may have brought some aspects to china, China already having some aspects of their own learnt from that and developed to what is now the huge kung fu system. Coz these staff forms remind me alot of the shoalin staff styles, which they might have developed from this.

In respects I think all countries have their own martial arts in past and present, like the ancient greeks, persian all had their own fighting systems too. It’s within human nature to defend. It’s just some systems survive through history and date well better than others leading them to be more well known and believe to be the first. But what matters it’s not who is the first, but who be an martial artist u must be open minded.
