Martial Arts Tips : How To Fight

Be prepared for attack by knowing how to fight. Initially, when the body is threatened, the mind reverts to a fight or flight mode of thinking, which is a subconscious reaction. Consciously train y…

Learn How to Fight in Order to Protect Your Self in Street Brawls

When you find yourself in a situation which leads to street fighting, how will you protect yourself? The only solution to this problem is to learn how to fight street brawls. You must master some self defense moves so that you don’t land up in the emergency wards of the hospitals. There are many types of people who simply want to provoke you. There only intention is to draw you into fighting so as to have fun. Try to assess the situation and do not react on an impulse.

However, the situation differs when someone actually harms you by hitting you or by threatening you. This is an alarming situation and you have to become alert. Look for objects around you that can be used as weapons. Any piece of furniture, crockery or small items like a safety pin can become your weapon. In self defense moves it is important that you think fast. Your thinking has to be faster than your assailant so that you strike before he can even think of. In case you are outnumbered, it is a wise idea to seek for a place from where you can escape.

When you learn how to fight then you are taught some self defense moves. However, sometimes you have to unlearn all that in a real situation. Basically, you must try to disseminate a situation as much as possible. It is better to talk to your attacker before starting physical movements. Most of the time talking diffuses the situation as there is a vent to the negative emotions. You can even apologize if you have committed a mistake. It is not right to get your ego in between such crucial matters. Even if your mistake is small, apologize, because your target is to avoid fighting.

Sometimes the attackers are so engrossed in their world that they want to harm you. Therefore try to back away. Even then if your attacker doesn’t allow you to escape, take a position to fight. In the schools where you learn how to fight, they will teach you a mixture of marital arts and a few logical aspects. A good combination would be to learn self defense moves from various countries. This kind of training will make you more flexible and adaptable to different street fighting situations.

Apart from self defense moves these schools talk about the psychology of the criminals and emphasize on augmenting your fitness level. On the internet you will find many people who question the relevance of marital arts in the street fighting brawls. The marital art is skill where you learn self defense moves. The marital arts are designed in a way that you are able to defend yourself fully and ably. The training of marital arts is what matters the most. If your teacher emphasizes only on theory and rehearsal drills, then in actual street fighting situations you will suffer.

You have to integrate the element of pain and fear during the real time situations. Thus when you learn how to fight ensure that the course or the book you are reading covers various aspects of a real-time fight.

Do you want to learn how to fight? The self defense moves in my e-book are effective and complete and cover all aspects of street fighting.

Learn to Fight and Rise Above Your Fear

Fear has its undeniable dynamics in all forms of street combat, with no exception, but you can rise above the “fear factor” by adding a considerable mental feature to your efforts of learning street fighting. Critical situation on the street are possible at any moment – it is a good point to start with for your preparation for facing the additional fear aspect. Do you feel like you are the type of man or woman who simply freezes when a street fighting situation occurs? Well, panic is unavoidable with most of us – but if you learn to fight and control, at the same time, your emotions, you will handle your emotions to the disadvantage of your opponent.

This is why it is vital to practice, practice, and then practice again – it is the essence of any effort to learn to fight. It is crucial to arrive at such a point of naturalness, so that by the time you become conscious that you should actually feel terrified, your attacker has already been dealt with. Many people forget to take in hand the intensification of the feeling in an authentic street combat situation.

More often than not, if you can bring to a halt the intensification of emotions on both street combat sides (the attacker(s) and the defender(s)), the conflict does not take place. However, such prevention of emotion intensification rarely occurs, so the only thing that you can do is to continue your street fighting training and to learn to fight by being the one in control – which means that you control your emotions and not the reverse.

I can recommend a series of real-life situations exercises, but my warning is that the level of emotion intensity with such exercises does not compare with the level of emotion intensity in the actual street combat. For instance, a good manner of learning to deal with fear is by having someone rub you the wrong way. When someone is rude to you, you will experience both panic and bewilderment as to the reasons why he or she might act in such a manner.

The reality is the same: you may often find no authentic logical reason behind street attacks. They might want to rob you, in some situations, but time and again you may find yourself with your face smashed for no reason that you could actually comprehend. This will definitely line up a series of contradictory emotions. In practice, you may even feel the need to cry or even let your tears out, for that matter. This means that you have lost control over your emotions.

However, practice does make perfect. If you cry while you train, you will gradually learn to retain those tears, so that when a street fighting situation actually comes up, you will be the complete master of your emotional reactions. Listen to what I am saying: an aggressor is not going to attack you with subtleties. On the contrary, he or she will yell insults straight to your face – sometimes closer than what you might ever expect to, and believe me; sometimes you may even have to deal with literally bad breath situations.

Finally, when you learn to fight by controlling the fear factor, remember that your attacker actually deals with emotions, too. Your fear control training may in fact provide you with some reliable clues as to what the other is going through in a similar situation. In other words, never let it out of your mind that your opponent has weak emotional points, too. By studying yours, you can get an idea of his or hers.

When you learn to fight, practice of emotional control is mandatory. Street fighting situations always generate intense emotional reactions – they are, in fact, those that lead to the intensity of the physical conflict. By learning to deal with your emotions, you have an advantage over your adversary.

Street Fight Training

Keep changing the training partners over. This will stop students from becoming too familiar with each other and thus developing a complacent attitude.

During a training session, have a Team Leader detailed to control the class. The Team Leaders role is to formulate a specific training and stick to that program. The team Leader must be capable of stopping dangerous practices and also motivating the students to maintain a high work rate.

During practice sessions, it is possible to develop an obstructive mind set. This is where you start to anticipate the training partner’s movements and you apply counter moves. This will slow down your partner’s development. Allow your partner to practice a move until they are proficient at that technique. Remember that all techniques are usually set up with distracting punches or kicks. Your ability to anticipate your training partner’s moves will be properly tested during match fighting.

Spend at least two minutes on each technique. Work fast to develop power, speed, recovery, accuracy and tactical movement. Get away from the mind set of doing 200 kicks or 200 punches.. Practice each technique for at least two minutes, even if you only manage 50 repetitions. You must try to incorporate the technique into a fighting framework. The aim is to make the technique part of a defense and attack strategy rather than a sterile exercise in technique.

The punch bag is a passive training aid. Spend too much time on it and you will neglect your defense and ability to react positively to an attacker.

Keep your kick training as realistic as possible. Move back and forward, left and right, counter and use combinations. Close combat is both dynamic and demanding, you must keep moving an remain difficult to predict. Kicks are powerful techniques; they will have an effect, not only on the opponent, but also on the applier. Anticipate these effects through a rigorous training procedure that involves an active training partner.

Self Defense And Street Fight Psychology

Let’s speak about the psychological aspect of a street collision. You should differentiate two items. You must realize, whether your fight is a result of a usual domestic conflict, or you are attacked by a robber, killer or bandit. Your actions will flow depending on these circumstances.

If it is an everyday domestic conflict that happens in the street (someone pushed you or your leg, disturbed the queue order etc.), you should not use your fighting knowledge and skills to put your opponent out of action.

As a rule, all these conflicts occur because of trifles, and you need to behave normally in this case, let’s say naturally. When this conflict happens, no one wants to fight actually, but just gets rid of the negative energy that was accumulated.

Those who express harshly their negative reaction are not dangerous at all in most cases. He will threaten you, make expressive gestures, grab you with iron fingers but nothing more will happen. This is nothing but the pose which does not contain real threat at all. However, there are exceptions in this case too. You must define at once who is dangerous and who is not.

I would like to precise one thing. Though laws and principles of a hand-to-hand fighting are the same, a sports battle in a gym differs greatly from that one happened in the street. If you are calm when fight in a sports gym and don’t worry about fatal injury, you will be extremely nervous when come across your real enemy in the street. You won’t fight according to rule (as you do in the sports gym), you need to act most quickly and cruelly sometimes for your effective self defense.

The psychological aspect plays a very important role in the street scuffle. You must prevent your enemy’s attack or take the lead over him. Therefore, I advise you on no account not to start fighting if you see you can avoid it.

If you cannot do that and you know you will be attacked inevitably, you should act quickly, harshly and be the first with attack actions. Lots of things depend on who starts the battle first. This is the main distinction of a street fight. When you train in the sports gym, it is not important at all who will attack first. Both fighters are ready to attack and defense.

It is not the same thing in the street fight. Opponents rarely stand at the certain stances (as in the sport gym) and are situated in close distance quite often. In other words, they are in the hitting zone of each other. Hence, a person who starts his attack first has a huge advantage. Attack here means just the most harsh and strong action and not the expressive gestures at usual domestic conflict.

I always feel awkward when I am forced to come into such conflict. When I see a person standing in front of myself and offending me, I feel ashamed for this conflict that occurred. This person cannot be dangerous for me, he is completely defenseless.

I know that I can put him out of action in a moment, but my consciousness does not let me do that. As we see, such clashes that happen in shops, public transport, streets etc are not the fight itself, but just an everyday conflict.

Real fight happens when your enemy or enemies are certain in their superiority over you. For example, it may be numerical advantage, force advantage or armament advantage.

So, I strongly recommend to you: try to avoid street fight at any cost. If you see you are about to be attacked, you need to act most quickly and harshly. You must always remember that if your enemy is eager to fight with you, he is sure in his superiority. If he is alone and is not too strong or high, but still wants to fight, it means most likely that he is either armed with the weapon or instructed of some martial art.

How To Win A Street Fight

Most people don’t look for confrontation. When walking down the street, usually a fight is the farthest thing from their intentions. Despite this, there are often times when you’re presented with that very situation. Now, how do you win a street fight?

The first thing to know is that they’re not going to fight fair. They’re going to use every advantage they can. After all, they don’t want to get hurt themselves, and so they’re going to pick a target that is the least threatening.

With this basic assumption in mind, your opponent is going to be predictable. They’re either going to be armed, larger than you, outnumber you, or are going to have the element of surprise. Chances are, they will use a combination of these tactics.

What you need is a collection of counter-tactics. Most weapons work best if there’s a little distance between you and the other guy. If you can close the gap between you, the attacker’s weapons are far less effective. This leads you into the next problem: Size.

Everyone has soft spots, and many of them are universal. You just have to know where those spots are, and get at them faster than they can react. The great thing about this is that usually, the larger they are, the slower they are. Also, there are certain other ways to use your opponent’s size and momentum against them.

If you’re outnumbered, and there’s no way out, the tricks against one opponent can make an opening for your escape. It can, at least, move you into a position where you’re not surrounded. Also, the faster you can take one down, the more you can take down when the chips are seriously down.

The element of surprise is possibly the easiest to deal with. If you are grappled first, you are already in close enough to take advantage of weak spots. No matter how big the person is, you can bring your attacker to his knees by twisting his finger. No man can stand for very long after being kicked in the groin.

These are only the ideas behind winning a street fight. Before trying any of them, you should learn a system of using them.
